Gebirgsstelze - Grey Wagtail

Mitte Dezember war ich mit einem Freund morgens in der Früh am Zürichsee unterwegs. Wir nahmen an der schweizweiten Wasservogelzählung teil, die jährlich von der Schweizerischen Vogelwarte durchgeführt wird.

Ganz am Schluss, am Ende unseres Reviers, als wir schon am Gehen waren, flog uns diese Gebirgsstelze fast vor die Füsse. Ihre prachtvolle Färbung war beeindruckend.

In mid-December, I was out early in the morning with a friend at Lake Zurich. We were taking part in the nationwide waterbird census conducted annually by the Swiss Ornithological Institute.

Right at the end, at the far end of our territory, as we were about to leave, this Grey Wagtail flew almost right in front of our feet. Its magnificent coloring was impressive.
